I was asked to customize a Very Hungry Caterpillar Drawstring Backpack by a valued customer. She needed a bag that’s huge enough to hold her baby carrier. Although this is my first attempt, I readily agreed as it looked pretty easy to sew. Most importantly, I think this is going to be a fun project and will look really cute using my favourite fabrics from the Very Hungry Caterpillar collection by Andover Fabrics!
The finished drawstring backpack measures 17″ x 12″ and is very roomy for a baby carrier, diapers and other small baby essentials. In fact, it’s so versatile it can also be used as a beach bag, a book bag for your trip to the library, gym bag and so on. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Drawstring Backpack features lots of cheery caterpillars, butterflies, cupcakes, colourful dots and will be an absolute delight to own for all die hard Hungry Caterpillar fans (just like me)!
Made of 100% cotton fabrics, the Very Hungry Caterpillar Drawstring Backpack is so comfortable and lightweight to carry around. The interior is lined with a dark green fabric and can easily fit some books, lunch box, water bottle and clothes. I string an off-white cording for the drawstring, through loops attached to the bottom of the bag. The length of the cording is adjustable according to the height of the user.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Drawstring Backpack is now available for customization in my Etsy store at https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/listing/234980421/the-very-hungry-caterpillar-drawstring. Please check it out soon as quantities are limited! Please note that this item is made to order and will take 2 – 3 weeks for production.
I can’t get enough of all the fun bags that I’m making out of the Very Hungry Caterpillar fabric collection. Hmm….what shall I sew next? 😉
