Little Red Riding Hood Tote Bags

I’m in love with Riley Blake’s fabrics and couldn’t take my eyes off these beautiful fabrics from the Little Red Riding Hood collection.  Don’t you agree they are so pretty?  :)

The first thing that comes to my mind is to sew tote bags using these pretty fabrics.  Found an interesting tutorial at The Fabric Mill Blog which I had used as a good reference while creating my totes.

I’ve since sewn three Little Red Riding Hood totes, in shades of red, pink and aqua which are available for purchase in my Etsy store at https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/listing/191713479/little-red-riding-hood-girls-small-tote.  I love this pretty collection so much that I’ve shipped more fabrics over from USA yesterday to make similar awesome products!  Stay tuned to my blog as I share my works in progress of more Little Red Riding Hood products.  😀

Quilted Cushion Cover

My boss bought me some cute fabrics from Riley Blake for sewing.  As a gesture to thank her for the gift, I thought it’ll be nice to sew her something in return.  Saw a tutorial for quilted cushion cover from Modabakeshop and thought it’s something that’s very appropriate and easy to create.

http://www.modabakeshop.com/2014/03/quilt-as-you-go-improv-pillows.html

It’s made from a 10-inch square (layer cake friendly!), then pieced with simple borders.  The top is then quilted using free motion quilting in a meandering design, which gives the cushion a nice texture.  The cushion finishes at 14″ x 14″.

Took just a couple of hours to put this sweetie all together!  Great gift idea for your family and friends over the weekend!
