I conduct sewing classes in Singapore for basic, intermediate and advanced crafters.  I am a quilter with over eight years of experience and my areas of expertise includes quilting and applique.  Some of the sewing classes in Singapore I conduct include beginner’s sewing, applique pillow, patchwork pillow, basic quilting, plush toy sewing and more.

Basic Sewing Class

This class is designed for beginners learning to sew or people who have never used a sewing machine.  At the end of the class, you will gain confidence in operating a sewing machine and bring home a simple cushion cover.

Class Outline

  •  Introduction to rotary cutting and tools

  •  Learn how to operate a sewing machine

Owl Applique Pillow

Participants in this workshop will learn how to sew a personalized owl applique pillow to brighten up their homes. Using the techniques of fusible applique and decorative hand sewing, you’ll learn step by step how to produce this cute owl pillow. This class is designed for beginners.  Knowledge of using the sewing machine will be beneficial but not necessary.

Owl Plush Toys

One of our most popular workshops, this class will be conducted over two sessions and is suitable for crafters of all levels, both kids and adults.  Participants will learn how to create a cute owl plush toy using the techniques of fusible applique and decorative hand stitching.  Knowledge of using the sewing machine will be beneficial but not necessary. Students can choose to assemble the owl via hand or sewing machine.

4. Patchwork Pillow

Patchwork Pillow

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the basic techniques of patchwork piecing and quilting.  At the end of the class, you will have obtained knowledge of the basic stages of making a pretty patchwork pillow to decorate your home.  Please note that basic sewing skills and knowledge of operating a sewing machine is essential for this workshop.

5. Lunchtime Workshop

Lunchtime Sewing Workshop – Tote Bag

This workshop is specially organised for working mums who could only make time during lunch to learn sewing. For March 2016, the sew-a-long project will be a lunch tote, suitable for use during lunch! Knowledge of operating a sewing machine is essential.  Different projects will be conducted every month, ranging from bags, applique, plush toys to patchwork.  Workshop will be of a duration of 1.5 hours and conducted over two days.

6. Felt Animal Keychains/Brooches

Felt animal keychains and brooches

This fun workshop is suitable for both kids (9 years and above) and adults and crafters of all levels. No prior sewing experience is needed. Participants will learn to assemble animal keychains or brooches from felt and finish up using hand decorative sewing.

7. Finger Puppets

Kids Workshops Singapore

Finger Puppets

This fun workshop is a great family bonding activity to DIY your own Frozen, Baymax, Minion or Red Riding Hood finger puppets.  Suitable for all kids from age 3 and above.  Craft/sewing experience is not necessary.  Younger kids will learn how to create their own patterns from felt and glue them all together to form their favourite character, while the older kids can try their hands with simple decorative stitches.

Applique Coasters

Applique Coasters

Applique is a traditional technique of applying pretty scrap fabrics to a fabric top to create a unique design. Through this method, you can create pretty designs such as flowers, animals and more.  In this workshop, you will learn how to DIY your own applique coaster, which would look awesome as a decor on your tabletop or as a centrepiece on your dining table.  This workshop is suitable for crafters of all levels.  Project will be completed by both hand and machine sewing.
