I’m soooooo in love with the Little Red Riding Hood collection by Riley Blake Designs. There are just so many wonderful projects I can make with them! Last weekend, I completed a quilted decorative pillow cover using this collection of beautiful fabrics. The decorative pillow cover measures 14″ x 14″ when completed. It’s a perfect decor item for a nursery, child’s room…in fact, anywhere at home!
The middle block is made of up 16 pieced 3-inch squares, followed by 2 1/2-inch borders sewn in a log cabin style. I stitched in the ditch to quilt the top, batting and backing together. For the back, I chose baby pink dotted minky fabric sewn into an envelope enclosure for easy insertion of the pillow form. Love the use of minky fabrics which made the decorative pillow cover so soft and plush!
Sharing some behind the scenes photos of my sewing process. I intend to create a free tutorial for this sometime soon!
