It’s just about eight days to the launch of our Japanese fabrics in Etsy and we are counting down! They are so kawaii and pretty and simply irresistible! As mentioned in my previous blog post, I was so blessed to receive the distributorship for the Nani IRO fabric collections. They were on my #1 wishlist and I love every single design that’s out there. If there’s one fabric I need to own, it has to be Nani IRO fabric! 😉
If you’ve never heard of Nani IRO, it is a label designed for Kokka Japan by famous Japanese artist Naomi Ito. It consists of beautiful collections that are seen as art on fabric and watercolor still life on fabric. Most of the Nani IRO fabric comes in 100% cotton double gauze material, which are widely used for dressmaking and light interior items such as quilts and bed linen. If you are not sure what a double gauze material is, they are manufactured from two layers of open woven (mesh-like) textile that are attached to each other using small almost invisible stabbing. Japan is famous for the manufacture of perfect double gauze fabrics. Frankly, I’ve never seen double gauze cotton till I shipped Nani IRO fabric over and I can’t stop raving about how soft and comfortable they are!
Besides double gauze cotton, there are also various designs from Nani IRO fabric collections that are printed on a smooth blend of linen and cotton. These are the heavier weight fabrics which are ideal for home decor items, bags and thicker clothings.
Some of the collections I’m carrying include En Garden, Poppy Trip, Mountain Views, Spectacle, Birds Eye, Pocho and more! Aren’t they so pretty? I’m still in the process of photographing these pretty fabrics and will be sharing more once the images are ready.
